They may be guest speaking at the March meeting-but I am confused. Also, it is time to Fill out the membership form and the dive waiver and pay $50 in dues... And if you have an interest in Marine Protected Areas, and reserves, and other places where the plucky fisherman is going to be pushed away and/or the over stressed marine environment will be given a slight break, we have a map of Commission Preferred MPA'sfor the central coast.
HappeningsSaturday 1/19/2002 Bob Simpton, Rich Gibson and Molly Gibson had a sweet dive at Stillwater. And there are pictures (Rated 'R'). Bob caught a 30" Ling Cod, and then mocked Rich's China Cod. Thursday 1/17/2002 Business Meeting at The Powerhouse Brewing Company in Sebastopol. (directions) Saturday 1/5/2002 Monterey Dive. The weather was great! We had two wonderful days of diving. Saturday 12/15/2001 RED Christmas Party! Yeah for yuletide cheer! Saturday 12/8/2001 Dive at Stillwater Cove Thursday 12/6/2001 Meeting at Round Table Pizza, 7:00 pm Ron Gaul will speak! Saturday 10/6/2001 Halibut Dive! What a great day. Here is one story of the day. Bill Davenport, Jock Doss and Bob Simpton were out three weekends ago and they couldn't see sand for all of the Halibut covering the bottom. Thursday 10/4/2001 Meeting at Round Table Pizza, 7:00 pm Abalone biologist Peter Otis will NOT be here-he has been rescheduled for November. Sorry! Tuesday 10/2/2001 The October newsletter is in the mail, and on line Thur 9/20/2001 Business Meeting at Moylan's off of Rowland Avenue in Novato. We decided that members who don't come to the regular meeting will be assigned all of the 'icky' chores. Relay for Life Member Cathy Irwin is participating in the Relay for Life to fight Cancer. Please Read her letter and contribute! Fri-Sun 9/7-9/2001 Albion Campout @ Schooner Landing. Last Campout of the year (boo hoo). It was great, and pictures are online. The September Newsletter is on line. And has been sent out. If you don't have yours then LET ME KNOW! (email rich@chilidog.com)... Thur 9/6/2001 We had a great general meeting. Four (!) new members. Sat 8/25/2001 Dave's BIG Ab Dive Sat 8/18/2001 Bob Simpton, Jock Doss, and Rich Gibson got together for a great Ab dive at Fisk Mill Cove. Great conditions, great company, beautiful weather, and lots of Abs. A pretty perfect outing (pictures). Thur 8/16/2001 Business Meeting. We had a MASSIVE turnout. All of the officers (Jock, Mike Mendoza, Jed, Bob, Rich), plus Kim, Gary (the Concience of the Club), Cathie Irwin, and two guests (!?). The conversation was hot, but the service was not as we waited up to an hour and a half for our food :-( Oh Well. 8/11/2001 Jock, Rich, and Molly went abing and halibut diving in Tomales Bay (pictures). Rich learned that halibut are not large mouth bass, and that the right way to hold a halibut is not by putting your thumb in its' mouth. 8/2-4/2001 Shelter Cove campout. Jed sent in a great report...it will be online when I get the newsletter up. Saturday 7/28/2001 we all met for a great Halibut Dive, sponsored by President Jock. Dave Batt got a 'butt while freediving (the Animal!). Jock came home with a Starry Flounder, which DK said sounded like some sort of magical creature, and someone in Mike's boat, but sadly not Mike, landed a salmon. |
